Sustainability

We attach great importance to the sustainability of our raw materials. For this reasen we decided to adapt our production very early to the norms of the PEFC certification, and were awarded that certification as the first sawmill in Belgium.

PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification is the certification system of choice for small forest owners.

Exploitation

In addition to the sustainability of our rax material, we make sure to use the whole resource.

The by-products, that occur in the process of debarking and cutting the logs, are processed in local companies.

• Wood shavings and sawdust are processed into pellets
• Wood chips are processed into paper or MDF boards
• Bark is processed into mulch or used as biomass in energy prodcution
